The Nigeria-Kenya Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NiKCCIMA) has nominated Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah O. to the Secretariat of its Nigeria Chapter, in a move aimed at strengthening youth participation in bilateral trade and investment between Nigeria and Kenya.
The appointment was conveyed in a nomination letter from the Chamber’s leadership, with the inauguration of the new Secretariat slated for 8th October, 2026 in Abuja.
Comrade Jeremiah is the immediate past State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, a Presidential Aspirant in the recently concluded National Congress of the NYCN, and currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, on Grassroots Sensitization.
Reacting to the nomination, Comrade Jeremiah expressed profound gratitude to the Director-General and the Global Secretariat of NiKCCIMA for the confidence reposed in him.
In his formal acceptance letter dated 26th September, 2026, he stated:
“I write to formally acknowledge and gratefully accept my nomination to serve on the Secretariat of the Nigeria Chapter of NiKCCIMA. I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me through this nomination and sincerely appreciate the recognition of my professional experience, commitment, and passion for promoting intra-African trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development.”
He described the appointment as “a great pleasure and privilege” and thanked the leadership of the Chamber for the honour.
The Youth leader assured that he will bring his knowledge, networks and experience to bear in advancing the Chamber’s mandate in critical areas including membership mobilisation, strategic engagement, policy advocacy, investment facilitation, corridor development and stakeholder relations.
“I fully recognise the responsibilities and expectations associated with this role. I am committed to supporting the successful implementation of the Chamber’s programmes towards deepening meaningful commercial and investment relationships between Nigeria and Kenya, while also supporting initiatives that advance the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA),” he said.
Comrade Jeremiah further pledged to leverage his youth leadership platform to mobilize young entrepreneurs and professionals for the Chamber’s initiatives.
“In my capacity as a youth leader, I am committed to mobilising and engaging young people in support of the Chamber’s programmes. I believe that the meaningful participation of young entrepreneurs will be important to fostering innovation, expanding trade opportunities, and promoting sustainable economic partnerships between our two countries,” he added.
He confirmed his availability for the inauguration and expressed optimism for a productive and mutually beneficial engagement.
By the special grace of God, Comrade Jeremiah also looks forward to serving as the Youth President of NiKCCIMA, a role that will further amplify youth inclusion in Nigeria-Kenya economic diplomacy.
