Kogi Water Resources Commissioner Commends Organisers of Islamic Lecture on Cancer and Nutrition

The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya M. D. Farouk, FNSE, has commended the management of Miftahul Khairat Juma’at Masjid, Lokongoma Phase II, Lokoja, and the Sisters of Jannah, Lokoja Zone, for organising the 18th Monthly Lecture Series focused on the relationship between cancer and nutrition.

The lecture, held in Lokoja, featured a presentation titled *“The Relationship Between Cancer and Nutrition: The Prophetic Approach to Food as Medicine,” which explored the connection between dietary practices, health and Islamic teachings.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Adewale Armiyau Abolere (FTHL), with Hon. Kadi M. M. Bello serving as Chief Host.

Speaking at the event, Engr. Farouk expressed appreciation to the organisers for putting together what he described as a high-impact programme.

He also commended the guest speakers for their contributions and for providing valuable insights which were drawn from Islamic tradition and health science.

The lecture series provided an avenue for participants to engage discussions on nutrition and its relevance to health, while highlighting the importance of health education within the community.

The programme formed part of the mosque’s monthly lecture series aimed at promoting knowledge and meaningful discussions on issues relevant to the Muslim community and society at large.
