… Says Kogi LGA Is Home Of APC, Predicts Clean Sweep For APC, Victory For Tinubu, Ododo In 2027
The ongoing Local Government Election in Kogi State witnessed a huge and impressive turnout of electorates in Kogi Local Government Area, particularly in Gegu-Beki Ward, where the Honourable Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, cast his vote amidst jubilant and enthusiastic voters.
Our correspondent who monitored the exercise in Gegu-Beki reports that voting opened as early as 8:00am with the prompt arrival of electoral officers and voting materials by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), while voters conducted themselves in a peaceful, orderly and exemplary manner.
The atmosphere at the polling units was festive, with men, women and youths queuing in an orderly fashion to exercise their civic responsibility.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Engr. Bashiru Gegu expressed optimism of a clean and total sweep by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate and all its Councillorship candidates across the 11 wards of Kogi LGA.
He described Kogi LGA as the undisputed home and stronghold of the APC with no viable opposition, noting that the people have resolved to reward good governance with massive votes.
According to him, the people-oriented policies, purposeful leadership and outstanding developmental strides of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo have made the council election seamless and a walkover for the APC.
Engr. Gegu described the turnout as massive, unprecedented and a clear litmus test of the party’s grassroots popularity, adding that the exercise was a way of testing the microphone ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
” We have reasons to turnout enmass. The long abandoned Lokoja Abuja road is a joy to our people. The outstanding performance of Gov. Ododo in the payment of salaries and other developments, has attracted this turnout. 2027 by the Grace of God is a walkover for APC in Kogi LGA”.
He assured that with the level of mobilization and unity witnessed today, the victories of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the forthcoming general and governorship elections will be won seamlessly and overwhelmingly in Kogi LGA and the state at large.
The Commissioner expressed profound satisfaction with the logistics arrangements put in place by the State Independent Electoral Commission led by Hon. Mamman Nda Eri, and commended the electorates for their orderly conduct, maturity and commitment to democracy.
He assured that with the APC-led administration at both the State and Local Government levels, Kogi LGA is poised to witness more dividends of democracy, infrastructural development and economic prosperity, especially in the solid minerals sector.
