Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Energy Matters and Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers in Kogi State, has commended the Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, for unveiling a N500 million Youth Development Fund aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and expanding economic opportunities for young people across Yagba Federal Constituency.
Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi described the initiative as a bold demonstration of purposeful representation, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, noting that such interventions reflect a genuine understanding of the challenges confronting young people and the need to provide sustainable solutions that will enable them to become economically independent.
Hon. Abejide announced the N500 million initiative during his homecoming rally in Isanlu, where he disclosed that the fund would promote entrepreneurship through the establishment of cooperative societies, providing a platform for young people to access opportunities, develop business ventures, and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of their communities.
Reacting to the announcement, Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi described the federal lawmaker as a passionate record breaker whose approach to representation goes beyond political promises to initiatives capable of delivering tangible benefits to the people.
According to him, investing in the productive capacity of young people remains one of the most effective ways to tackle unemployment, stimulate grassroots economic development, and build a generation of self-reliant citizens.
He noted that the proposed fund has the potential to strengthen small businesses, encourage collective enterprise, and create a supportive environment for aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable economic ventures.
Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi further observed that the cooperative society model could provide young entrepreneurs with opportunities to pool resources, access business support, and pursue sustainable ventures that may otherwise be difficult to establish individually.
He stressed that leadership should be measured not merely by the positions people occupy but by the lives they touch, the opportunities they create, and the lasting impact of their interventions on society.
