By joshua Sen. Sunday Karimi Unveils Free Mass Transit For Kogi West
In a bold move to bring direct relief to the people and align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, is set to launch a free mass transit scheme for residents of Kogi West, commencing with Lokoja metropolis.
The initiative, tagged KARIMI CARES, is a sustained people-centred intervention designed to cushion the effects of economic hardship and ease the burden of high cost of living on ordinary citizens.
According to the Senator, the first phase of the transport scheme will provide free shuttle bus services within Lokoja, helping workers, traders, students and commuters drastically cut their daily transportation expenses.
The free buses will operate daily on a strategic route from Nigeria Army Barracks to Lokoja New Market / Nataco Junction.
Operational hours have been fixed to capture peak commuting periods: Morning – 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Evening – 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This landmark gesture is coming on the heels of Senator Karimi’s sustained scholarship programme for tertiary institution students across Kogi West in the last three years, which has benefited hundreds of indigent students.
Speaking on the initiative, Senator Karimi noted that true representation must be felt on the streets, in markets, and in the daily lives of the people. KARIMI CARES, he stressed, is not a slogan but a commitment – Caring for the People, Easing the Burden, and Serving with Purpose.
With this free transport scheme, Senator Sunday Karimi has once again demonstrated that governance is about practical, immediate solutions that restore hope and put smiles on the faces of the people.
