Ebonyi Governor sacks works commissioners, directs Immediate hand over of Government properties

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has sacked the commissioner for works in the State, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam and directed him to hand over all Government property in his possession including his official vehicle to the Secretary to the State government with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the Governor Dr. Monday Uzor on Saturday in Abakaliki, the the State Capital.
The statement also directed Engr. Mbam to transfer responsibilities to the permanent secretary ministry of works Chief Monday Nkwuda.
According to the statement, Governor Nwifuru directed Mbam to “hand over all Government property in his possession including his official vehicle to the Secretary to the State Government.”
The statement, however, did not disclose the reason for the governor’s decision to remove Mbam from office.
The Works Ministry is a key component of the administration’s development agenda, with responsibility for several ongoing road and other infrastructure projects across the state.
Governor Nwifuru, while assuring residents of his administration’s continued commitment to development, said the government remained focused on “delivering effective governance and improving public infrastructure across the state.”
