By joshua Government Intimidation: CRPP Changes To PAGG, Vows To Continue Crusade For A Better Edo

Buoyed by its recent restructuring and re-christening as the Peoples’ Assembly for Good Governance (PAGG) due to what it described as a sponsored petition against its name by Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) to the Department of State Security (DSS), the Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has vowed to vigorously pursue its advocacy for the betterment of Edo people through good governance.
In a joint statement by the national chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor and the general secretary, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nkama, PAGG assured Edo people that it will never let them down but remained focused in its quest to move Edo forward and take its rightful place in the committee of developed states, being one of the oldest states in Nigeria.
Isibor and Nkama explained that the CRPP executive council resolved to change its name from CRPP to PAGG to meet the expectation of its teeming admirers, associates, particularly the impoverished masses of Edo State whom it’s committed to represent and serve, despite the intimidation of the government in power in Edo state.
According to them, Edo people are seriously lamenting the non-performance of Governor Monday Okpebholo administration, especially the unending project of overhead bridges construction which he promised to have completed since April 2026 and has brought suffering and untold hardship to motorists.
PAGG said that the state of Benin – Lagos expressway, especially the poor deplorable and blood sucking nature of S&T axis in Ugbowo is also cause for serious concern.
The duo added: “Despite the promise of using federal might to fix the federal roads in the state, the reverse is the case. It is also worrisome to note that the economic activities in the state are grounded, resulting in the high cost of living in the state.
“We reject the underdevelopment we found ourselves in this state. Definitely, we shall continue to advocate an initiative for good governance.
They said, “Never again will Edo State fall into the hands of non-performance government of Edo State. We will liberate Edo State from the clutches of this perpetual so-called leaders whose main purpose is self-aggrandizement for themselves, families and accolades.” They stated.
PAGG mourned elder statesman and l chieftain of the (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih who passed on recently, noting that Edo State has lost a great democrat and a colossus.
While imploring the government to immortalize him by naming a prominent edifice or road in his name, the chairman and scribe remarked that Chief Orbih fought indefatigably for democratic principles and believed so much in accountability.
