OCTOBER 17 LG POLLS: IPAC CHARGES POLITICAL PARTIES ON VIGOROUS, ISSUE-BASED CAMPAIGN, URGES ELECTORATE TO ELECT COMPETENT CANDIDATES

As Kogi State prepares for the Local Government Election scheduled for 17th October, 2026, the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Kogi State Chapter, led by Hon. Iliyas Badanga, has called on all participating political parties to embark on vigorous and issue-based campaigns to sensitize the general public.
The call was made by the State Chairman of IPAC during a stakeholders’ engagement with leaders of political parties in Lokoja.
According to IPAC, the time has come for the electorate to elect candidates of their choice based on competence, character and sincerity of purpose that will bring prosperity, peace and development to the grassroots as the third tier of government.
“The local government is the closest to the people. We must move away from politics of religion, ethnicity and sectionalism. Let us elect people who have the capacity, good character and sincerity to deliver,” the IPAC Chairman stated.

Hon. Iliyas Badanga
Chairman, IPAC, Kogi State Chapter
