“ODODO IS OUR CHOICE”: OFU AND AJAOKUTA LG WORKERS PLEDGE TOTAL SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU, GOVERNOR ODODO

Workers in Ofu and Ajaokuta Local Government Areas have declared their unflinching support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, saying there is no reason to consider any alternative.

The workers made the declaration on Monday during the Workplace Security Campaign outreach held at the secretariats of the two local government councils.

At Ugwolawo, headquarters of Ofu LGA, the Director of Local Government, Mrs. Joy Audu, described the visit by the campaign team as timely. She said the delegation led by Comrade Onuh Edoka, former NLC Chairman in the state, was one with a credible record that could not be ignored.

Mrs. Audu noted that Comrade Edoka’s antecedents as a labour leader speak for themselves and assured that the message delivered to the workers would be acted upon at the appropriate time.

The NUT Chairman in Ofu LGA, Comrade Ochidi Omale, also applauded Governor Ododo for prioritizing workers’ welfare since assuming office. He said the Governor’s approach to governance represents a clear departure from the past and has given workers a new sense of belonging.

The mood was no different at Adogo, headquarters of Ajaokuta LGA, where workers turned out in large numbers to receive the team. The Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Zainab Salisu, expressed delight at the sensitization and affirmed that workers in Ajaokuta are solidly behind President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.

Speaking on behalf of sister unions, the NULGE Chairman in Bassa, Comrade Abanika Seidu, declared absolute support for the President and the Governor, stressing that the workers remain united in purpose.

Addressing the workers, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Onuh Edoka, spoke on the importance of workplace security and stability in governance. He urged them not to be swayed by desperate politicians, but to be guided by their conscience and by the concrete steps government has taken to improve workers’ welfare.

Comrade Edoka disclosed that workers will soon embark on a thank-you visit to the Government in appreciation of its good deeds, and called on them to show their appreciation by turning out massively when the time comes.

He said the overwhelming reception in Ofu and Ajaokuta is a clear indication that workers across the state have resolved to stand with the administration of Governor Ododo and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
