On behalf of the Southerners Resident in Kogi State, we extend our heartfelt felicitations to His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, and to the good and peace-loving people of the Confluence State on the auspicious occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the Creation of Kogi State.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja and signed by Kingsley Oshilim, Acting Secretary, Southerners Resident in Kogi State, we join millions of Kogites to celebrate this historic milestone with deep gratitude to God and renewed hope for the future.
Thirty-five years ago, Kogi State was created as a symbol of unity in diversity — a bridge between the North and South. Today, that vision is being strengthened under the purposeful and inclusive leadership of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
We proudly describe Kogi State today as strong, solid, and Progressive across all areas of socio-economic development. From road infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, to youth and women empowerment, the Ododo administration has demonstrated a clear commitment to building a state where every resident, regardless of ethnic or religious background, has a sense of belonging.
As Southerners who have found peace, opportunity and home in Kogi State, we appreciate the enabling environment created by this government. We commend the Governor’s grassroots-driven policies, his commitment to community development, and his deliberate efforts to carry all sections of the state along.
We also acknowledge the ongoing strides in resuscitating key infrastructure, improving security architecture, and expanding economic opportunities for citizens and residents alike.
As we mark this 35th anniversary, we pray that Almighty God continues to bless Kogi State, protect its people, guide its leaders, and establish the state on the path of greater peace, unity and prosperity.
