Dr Ocholi Visits SGF, Thanks President Tinubu for TETFund Board Appointment

Newly appointed TETFund Board of Trustees member representing the North Central geopolitical zone, Dr Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, in Abuja to express appreciation for his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ocholi visited Akume on Friday, where he thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him to serve on the governing board of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the new board member to discuss his new responsibility and the expectations attached to representing the North Central region on the board.

President Tinubu approved Ocholi’s appointment on July 3, 2026, to represent North Central on the TETFund Board of Trustees.

The appointment places Ocholi on a board that plays a central role in determining how TETFund resources are managed and deployed to public tertiary institutions across the country. TETFund says its interventions are directed towards infrastructure, equipment, research and publications, academic staff training and other needs critical to improving standards in tertiary education.

Ocholi’s appointment has also attracted commendations from Kogi State, with the state government describing his background and experience as assets that would enable him to contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
