NULGE CONGRATULATES KOGI AGL, HON. YAKUBU ADABENEGE, ON EMERGENCE AS CHAIRMAN OF FORUM OF AUDITORS-GENERAL LG NATIONWIDE

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Kogi State Chapter, has congratulated the Kogi State Auditor-General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Forum of Auditors-General for Local Government Councils in Nigeria.

The announcement was made during the 30th Conference of Auditors-General for Local Government Area Councils, held in Kogi State.

In a congratulatory message issued on Friday, the State President of NULGE, Comr. Muhammed Sanusi, described Hon. Adabenege’s emergence as well-deserved and a clear recognition of his dedication, professionalism, and distinguished contributions to the auditing profession.

“On behalf of the entire leadership and membership of NULGE nationwide, I heartily congratulate our brother, Hon. Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, on this new and higher call to service,” Comr. Sanusi said.

“This feat is a testament to your track record of promoting accountability, transparency, and sound financial management at the local government level. Kogi State has once again shown the way in good governance.”

Comr. Sanusi noted that the local government system thrives when there is integrity in financial oversight, adding that Hon. Adabenege’s leadership at the national forum will further strengthen internal control mechanisms and reposition third-tier governance for greater efficiency.

“We are confident that under your chairmanship, the Forum will provide stronger guidance, peer review, and advocacy that will deepen fiscal discipline and protect public funds at the grassroots,” he stated.

“As partners in the struggle for autonomy, transparency and development at the local government level, NULGE pledges to work closely with you and the Forum to ensure that councils deliver maximum value to the people.”

The NULGE President prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and guidance for the new Chairman as he pilots the affairs of the Forum.

Hon. Adabenege currently serves as the Auditor-General for Local Government in Kogi State and was unanimously elected to lead his colleagues nationwide at the conference hosted by the state.
