By joshua Kogi Health Ministry Pledges Stronger Ties with NIPR
Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has moved to deepen collaboration with the state Ministry of Health and its agencies, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Public Relations practice across the state.
At a high-level meeting between the institute and the Ministry, Kogi State Chairman of NIPR, Ismaila Isah explained that the advocacy was aimed at building stronger ties with stakeholders and improve the institute’s presence.
He noted that state chapters now serve as the operational backbone for the National Secretariat, making it essential to engage both public and private sector stakeholders while also growing membership among PR practitioners.
Isah disclosed that the NIPR platform offers numerous opportunities to members and encouraged Information and Public Relations Officers to join the institute, meet compliance requirements, and sharpen their skills in institutional communication.
He also commended the Ministry’s stellar accomplishments, attributing them to teamwork and visionary leadership of the Coordinating Commissioner for Health, Dr Adams Abdulazeez, stating that a stronger partnership with NIPR could expand the Ministry’s successes further.
Responding on behalf of the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Maaji Enoch outlined the Ministry’s progress in expanding access to affordable healthcare under the Ododo administration.
He emphasized the importance of visibility in publicizing achievements across the Ministry’s 10 MDAs, all working toward implementing the federal government’s National Health Policy.
Mr Enoch said the Commissioner operates an open-door policy and welcomed the collaboration with NIPR as he pledged support to strengthen the institute’s presence in the state and ensure the Ministry’s communication officers receive proper training to perform effectively in their roles.
The meeting which had in attendance 8 directors of the ministry witnessed the Commissioner’s representative being formally decorated as an ambassador of the chapter.
