The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Branch, successfully hosted its 2026 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference with the theme “Safeguarding Standards, Advancing Clinical Practice: The Role of Public-Private Partnerships in our Hospitals,” with the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, represented by Deputy Governor Hon. Dennis Idahosa, alongside esteemed leaders including UBTH CMD Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu.
During the event, Governor Okpebholo commissioned several landmark projects executed under Dr. Oseghale’s administration, which included the Prof. Omoti Presidential Suite, the Dr. Philip Ugbodaga Medical Library, the Nigerian Medical Association Edo State History Ville.
In his speech ,the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Edo State Branch, Dr. Eustace Oseghale expressed gratitude to Edo State Governor, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo for his commitment to health infrastructure, improved welfare for personnel, and the overall advancement of healthcare in Edo State.
Dr. Oseghale called on private individuals, corporate organizations, and NGOs to support public health institutions while also urging the government to support private hospitals in alignment with the AGM’s theme.
Also, in attendance were, Dr. Philip Ugbodaga, Chief Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Benin, Dr. Anthonia Njoku, Chief Medical Director, Edo Specialist Hospital, the Centre Leader, Centre for Excellence in Reproductive Health Innovation (CERHI), Prof Otaniyenuwa Obarisiagbon,
Medical Elders, Business Leaders, and members of the Association.
The week-long event continues with a Dinner and Award Night, concluding with a thanksgiving Service.
