As political consultations and strategic realignments continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, growing voices within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and among several political stakeholders in Kogi West Senatorial District have continued to express confidence in the leadership of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, describing him as the most suitable candidate to continue representing the district at the National Assembly.
According to the stakeholders, Senator Karimi’s record of legislative representation, constituency engagement, and developmental interventions has positioned him as a strong contender for another term in office. They argued that his commitment to the welfare of the people and his consistent efforts to attract meaningful projects have distinguished him from previous occupants of the office.
Speaking on the political atmosphere ahead of the election, Political Advocate and Social Media Commentator, Comrade Olorunhudo Samuel Taiwo, stated that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has demonstrated uncommon dedication to public service and has continued to prioritize the collective interests of the people of Kogi West.
He noted that the Senator has consistently pursued initiatives aimed at improving education, youth empowerment, women empowerment, infrastructure, security advocacy, and community development across the seven local government areas that make up Kogi West Senatorial District.
According to him, many residents have continued to acknowledge the Senator’s accessibility, responsiveness, and willingness to engage directly with constituents on issues affecting their daily lives.
Comrade Taiwo further maintained that, in his opinion, Senator Karimi’s achievements in office have surpassed those of previous representatives who occupied the same position, citing visible constituency interventions, legislative participation, and sustained grassroots engagement as major factors responsible for the growing support for his re-election.
He explained that effective representation should not merely be measured by occupying a political office but by the tangible impact made in the lives of ordinary citizens. He argued that Senator Karimi has continued to demonstrate a leadership style centered on service, accountability, and practical solutions to the challenges confronting communities across Kogi West.
Political observers have also noted that Senator Karimi secured the APC ticket for the 2027 senatorial election after winning the party’s primary election, a development widely interpreted as reflecting significant support within the party.
Supporters believe that continuity in leadership would enable ongoing projects and legislative initiatives to be consolidated while creating opportunities for additional federal presence within the senatorial district. They insist that stability in representation remains essential for sustaining developmental momentum.
Comrade Taiwo therefore appealed to party members, community leaders, youths, women, traditional institutions, and all eligible voters across Kogi West to continue supporting Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, expressing confidence that another term would further accelerate growth, development, and effective representation throughout the district.
He emphasized that elections should ultimately be guided by performance, competence, integrity, and the demonstrated capacity to deliver quality representation, adding that, in his assessment, Senator Karimi possesses these qualities and remains well positioned to continue serving the people of Kogi West Senatorial District.
As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, supporters say they remain optimistic that the people of Kogi West will evaluate every candidate based on track record, leadership qualities, and commitment to public service before making their choice at the polls.
