Politics is where character is tested, loyalty is weighed, and history delivers its final verdict.
Time strips away propaganda, exposes pretenders, and honours those whose lives are defined by sacrifice rather than opportunism.
The Scriptures declare, “By their fruits you shall know them.” Socrates warned that falsehood corrupts the soul, while Edmund Burke reminded us that example remains humanity’s greatest teacher.
It is against this backdrop that one must critically interrogate Alfred Bello’s very careless call on the President to “call Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to order for causing problems all over Kogi State.”
Such a reckless and unguarded accusation, unsupported by a single verifiable fact or specific example, is uncivilized, uncultured, and a political sycophancy taken to the extreme.
The people of Kogi State deserve answers. What problems did Hon. Faleke create ? Where ? Against whom ? By what actions ?
Questions are the enemies of propaganda because facts have nothing to fear from scrutiny.
History did not begin yesterday.
The massive electoral victory of the late Prince Abubakar Audu and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke in 2015 changed the political history of Kogi State and established the APC as the party in power and a dominant political force.
Many of us who were foundation members of that movement have endured twelve years of sacrifice without any reward from the Kogi State government that we toiled through rain and sunshine to bring on board.
It is therefore should be deeply understandable that those of us who are APC foundation members, loyal and faithful feel overlooked and abandoned while newcomers like Alfred Bello and others who decamped from the PDP only after the 2023 general election enjoy the dividends of victories they did not participate in securing.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has, however, remained steadfast. His record of legislative excellence, philanthropy, youth empowerment, educational support, medical outreaches in Lagos and Kogi states, and commitment to progressive governance speaks louder than the voices of his critics such as Alfred Bello.
His influence was neither inherited nor manufactured; it was earned through loyalty, competence, consistency, and service.
Great men like Faleke are rarely attacked because they are weak; they are attacked because their records are difficult to match, because they possess those human qualities that their attackers grossly lack.
As Shakespeare observed, “The empty vessel makes the greatest sound.”
History remembers builders, not hecklers. Gratitude is the foundation of honour, while ingratitude has destroyed more alliances than open opposition ever could.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs no one to identify those who stood faithfully with him and the progressive movement during difficult times, and those who appeared only after victory had been secured.
Loyalty cannot be erased by propaganda, and sacrifice cannot be rewritten by political convenience.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general election, Kogi people must distinguish between those who build institutions and those who manufacture distractions.
Leadership demands vision, integrity, competence, and sacrifice, not unsubstantiated allegations.
Falsehood may travel for twenty years, but truth travelling for an hour arrives faster with history’s final verdict.
When today’s political noise has faded, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke will be remembered for service, not slogans.
Some things are indeed better left unsaid. When wise men speak with facts, only the voices of folly shout without evidence.
