By joshua Mamman Nda Eri Reaffirms Commitment to Leadership Development as 1st Crowder Scout Troop Resumes Activities
Lokoja, July 9, 2026.
The Scout Association of Nigeria, 1st Crowder College Troop, has resumed full scouting activities with a reorganisation of its patrol system aimed at strengthening leadership, teamwork, discipline and effective participation among members.
Speaking during the official resumption ceremony held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Crowder Memorial College, Lokoja, the Scout Leader of the troop, Mamman Nda Eri, described the exercise as the beginning of a new phase of active scouting designed to build responsible and patriotic young people.
He said the reorganisation would enhance leadership development, character formation, teamwork and community service, stressing that the Scout Movement remains one of the most effective platforms for nurturing future leaders with integrity, self-discipline and a commitment to service.
According to him, every scout has a role to play in promoting the core values of the movement, adding that the newly constituted patrols would provide members with practical opportunities to develop leadership skills, responsibility and mutual cooperation.
The troop was reorganised into six patrols—Lion, Tiger, Elephant, Eagle, Dove and Cat—with each patrol headed by a Patrol Leader and a Patrol Second. Other patrol officers include the Secretary, Treasurer, Hike Leader, First Aider, Yell Leader and Quartermaster.
The ceremony was attended by the Principal of Crowder Memorial College, Mr. Maliki Bajeh Adinoyi; the school’s Game Master, Mrs. Anne Joseph; the State Training Commissioner of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Abdulkadir Abdullateef Osori; the Divisional Commissioner in charge of Lokoja, Kogi Local Government (Koton Karfe) and Ajaokuta Divisions, Mukhtar Idris; as well as Amina, Leader of the 5th Muslim Community Troop, who serves as Assistant Divisional Commissioner.
The event marked the official commencement of a new scouting session, with members reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of the Scout Movement and their readiness to contribute positively to their school and society.
