HON. ABUBAKAR BASHIR GEGU DONATES OVER N4M SOLAR SYSTEM TO OLD KOTON KARFE CENTRAL MOSQUE

The Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Kogi State, Hon. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has donated a solar power system worth over ₦4 million to the Old Koton Karfe Central Mosque located on Ekpaki Street.

The project, completed on Tuesday, July 8, 2026, is aimed at providing 24-hour electricity for worshippers and easing the burden of powering the mosque.

Members of the Mosque Committee, youth, elders, and Muslim faithful in Koton Karfe expressed joy and appreciation during the commissioning. They described the gesture as timely and a reflection of the Commissioner’s love for the people.

Speaking on behalf of the community, mosque leaders said the solar installation has ended the era of daily spending on fuel for generators and water for ablution.

“Today, the thought of fueling generators daily and buying water for ablution is now a thing of the past. Your record of service is unmatched and the love you have for Kogi LGA people is overwhelming,” they said.

The community also commended Hon. Gegu for consistently bringing development to his people. They noted that his interventions align with the developmental strides of the APC-led administration of Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

“Hon. Gegu is the only Commissioner who sees empowerment and development as a way of saying thank you to the people for their support to the party and to the Governor. We pledge our unalloyed loyalty and support to you,” the statement added.

Prayers were offered for the Commissioner, his family, and the Ododo administration. Community members prayed that Almighty Allah rewards him, replenishes his resources, and grants him more wisdom to serve.

Hon. Gegu is widely known as “OGA BOSS” and “DAUDU” for his consistent commitment to grassroots development across Kogi LGA.
