According to stakeholders from Akpasu Ward, the decision to join the APC was driven by appreciation for the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo administration. They said the governor has not neglected their community in the distribution of democratic dividends.

Projects cited include the construction of a Primary Health Care Centre, a modern school, and support for the Rice Mills in Akpasu Ward. The community said these interventions have directly improved their living conditions.

The people also commended the Governor for appointing Engr. Gegu as Commissioner, noting that “since his appointment, Engr. Bashir Gegu has delivered the dividends of democracy more than expected and has remained a true grassroots mobilizer for the party.”

The decampees were led by Hon. Zigu Motion and Hon. Sadam Hussain, former PDP Chairman of Akpasu Ward. They pledged total loyalty to the APC and promised to work for the party’s victory and that of Governor Ododo in future elections.

Dignitaries present included Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye, Member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency; the Executive Chairmen of Kogi LGA and Lokoja LGA; former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Alfa Imam; the Party Chairmen of Kogi LGA and Lokoja LGA; and other party stakeholders.

In his remarks, Engr. Gegu thanked the new members for joining the APC. He assured them that the party under Governor Ododo remains committed to inclusive governance and will continue to deliver more projects across Kogi State. He urged them to stay united and work for the growth of the party at all levels.
