RE: KOGI WEST APC SENATORIAL TICKET – SENATOR SUNDAY STEVE KARIMI REMAINS OUR CHOICE FOR 2027

Our attention has been drawn to a press conference organized by a group parading itself as the “Kogi West APC Leaders Forum,” which sought to impose Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro as the APC Senatorial candidate for Kogi West ahead of 2027.
We, the stakeholders, party faithful, and loyal members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi West Senatorial District, wish to state unequivocally that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi remains the choice of our people and the most qualified candidate to represent Kogi West in 2027.
In less than two years in the Senate, Senator Karimi has delivered representation that Kogi West has not witnessed in many years. Our district now has a loud, effective, and result-driven voice at the National Assembly.
His impact is visible across the 7 LGAs. He was instrumental to the approval and commencement of the rehabilitation of the Obajana–Kabba–Egbe–Omu-Aran–Ilorin Road and the Kabba–Iyara–Ifaki Road — projects that will unlock Kogi West’s economic potential and better connect us to the rest of the country.
Beyond infrastructure, Senator Karimi has rolled out empowerment programs for youths, women, and farmers. He has sponsored and co-sponsored bills and motions that directly address security, education, and the welfare of our people. Most importantly, he has sustained engagement with constituents through town halls and regular constituency outreach.
This is the standard of representation Kogi West has long deserved. To truncate it now would be a disservice to our people.
The attempt by a few individuals to force Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro on Kogi West through a back-door process is unacceptable. It lacked transparency, inclusion, and due process, and it is dead on arrival.
Kogi West is politically aware. We will not trade a performing Senator with verifiable results for an experiment. The APC in Kogi West grew on the pillars of inclusiveness and reward for performance, not imposition.
To change a performing Senator mid-stream would be political suicide for the APC in our district and would send the wrong signal to our teeming members ahead of 2027.
We respectfully urge *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the National Working Committee of the APC* to disregard any attempt to subvert the will of Kogi West.
The party must prioritize competence, track record, popularity, and loyalty over imposition. The principles of internal democracy and due process must not be sacrificed on the altar of personal interest.
We have no doubt that President Tinubu, who has consistently demonstrated commitment to fairness and equity, will ensure that justice prevails in Kogi West.
We reaffirm our total support for Senator Sunday Steve Karimi*. We stand for continuity. We stand for consolidation. We stand for APC victory in 2027.
We also pledge to mobilize massively for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Kogi West remains a stronghold of the APC, and we will not allow anything to weaken the party.
In conclusion: Kogi West deserves continuity, not confusion. Kogi West deserves performance, not imposition.
Signed:
Ayodele Gbenga
