PUBLIC DISCLAIMER / FRAUD ALERT.
I, Hon. Muhammad Sanni Gambo, Kogi State PDP Chairman, hereby alert the general public to a fraudulent scheme currently in circulation.
It has come to my attention that a criminal is impersonating my person and soliciting financial support from unsuspecting members of the public, including persons of high repute, with the intent to defraud them. The fraudster is falsely claiming to be my brother and alleging that he is getting married this weekend.
For the avoidance of doubt, I have no brother getting married this weekend, and I am not soliciting funds from anyone for such an event. I do not authorize any individual to transact business or make payments on my behalf.
Members of the public are therefore strongly advised to disregard such messages, calls, or requests, and not to send money or share personal/financial details with the individual. Anyone who transacts with the fraudster does so at his or her own risk.
I have reported the matter to the relevant security agencies, and steps are being taken to track, apprehend, and bring the perpetrator to justice.
I sincerely apologize for the embarrassment, anxiety, and inconvenience this criminal act may have caused to the very highly respected persons who have been contacted.
Please remain vigilant.
