By joshua Kabba Bunu Chairman Commends Gov. Ododo For Massive Investment In Security
The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his huge investment in the fight against insecurity across Kogi State.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja, Barr. Dare described the last two and a half years of the Ododo administration as one dedicated and committed to tackling insecurity.
“Two years of Governor Ododo’s administration is one in which he has not rested in fighting insecurity,” he said.
The chairman noted that major operations and monthly clearing exercises have been carried out in the last two and half years. “This is a huge investment that would have taken a toll on the state. However, Governor Ododo has combined these security efforts with other accomplishments,” he added.
According to him, “So much money is being used to fight criminal elements who came prepared to attack our people. But our consolation is the resolve by the state government not to give them space. As they come, they meet their Waterloo.”
He disclosed that every local government area in the state was provided with five vehicles each for vigilante groups, alongside other materials and logistics that are being constantly supplied to ensure effective operations.
“This is a huge investment. Governor Ododo deserves commendation. Our case in Kogi is even more challenging because we are bordered by nine volatile states. But the unrelenting efforts of the governor have made security a watchword,” Barr. Dare said.
The chairman cautioned those seeking cheap popularity by exaggerating insecurity reports as if Kogi were an isolated case. He stressed that fighting insecurity requires huge investment, and pointed out that the state is performing well in that regard.
He praised Governor Ododo for his firm stance that his administration will not negotiate with criminals involved in kidnapping and banditry, describing it as a sign of commitment and dedication.
Barr. Dare urged the present administration not to be discouraged in the fight against insecurity by those who want Kogi to be portrayed negatively for the wrong reasons.
He also commended the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), for living up to expectations. “His collaboration with other sister security agencies has paid off,” he said.
Expressing optimism, Barr. Dare said the state, by the grace of God, will defeat the remaining criminal elements bent on giving Kogi a bad name. “Governor Ododo is resolved and on top of his game in fighting insecurity,” he concluded.
