…Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu recognizes Hajia Maimunat Iyami for women mobilization, community service
Hajia Maimunat Iyami, the Natural Women Leader and Soroniya Dodo of Igu Kingdom, has received a brand new Toyota vehicle from the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
The presentation took place at Hajia Iyami’s Koton-Karfe residence and was handled by members of the 4G Network on behalf of the Commissioner. The car gift recognizes her consistent efforts in mobilizing women, fostering community cohesion, and strengthening support for the traditional institution under His Royal Majesty King Saidu Akawu Salihu, the Ohimgye of Igu Kingdom.
In her brief response, Hajia Maimunat expressed gratitude to Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu for the thoughtful gesture and reaffirmed her commitment to continue serving the women and people of Igu Kingdom with dedication.
The presentation is the latest in a series of empowerment interventions by the Commissioner, who has distributed several vehicles and other support items across Kogi State to reward community leaders, women groups, and youth organizations for their contributions to grassroots development.
