By joshua Kogi APC Stakeholders Urge Former Gov. Yahaya Bello to Support Party Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections
Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State have appealed to former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to avoid actions that could create division within the party, ahead of the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The stakeholders, under the platform of Concerned APC Leaders, made the call through their Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Tijani, after an expanded meeting in Lokoja. They expressed concern over recent developments in Kogi APC following the presidential and National Assembly primaries, and urged all party leaders to prioritize unity and collective interest.
The group noted that progressive politics should focus on the good of the people and the success of the party, rather than personal interests. They emphasized the need for all members to work together to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and other APC candidates in the state in 2027.
According to the stakeholders, recent activities attributed to the former governor appear to be at variance with the interests of President Tinubu and the APC in Kogi State. They advised the President and the National Working Committee to engage all party leaders carefully and ensure that decisions reflect the will of the grassroots.
The group also commented on the former governor’s reported interest in the Kogi Central Senate seat, urging that the party’s internal processes and integrity should not be compromised. They referenced the ongoing case involving him and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and appealed that the party’s reputation should be protected at all times.
The stakeholders called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yiltwatda to provide guidance to all leaders in Kogi State, in order to strengthen cohesion and improve the party’s chances in future elections.
They reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and expressed confidence that with dialogue and mutual respect, the party in Kogi State will remain united and focused on delivering good governance to the people.
