EID EL KABIR: Speaker felicitates with Muslims, Calls for Sacrifice, Unity, Peace
The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has felicitated with Muslims across Kogi State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid el Kabir celebration.
This is contained in a press statement signed and released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed.
Accorsing to the statemeht, Rt. Hon. Umar described Eid el Kabir as a sacred period that reflects the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, faith and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
The Speaker urged Muslims and Nigerians at large to use the occasion to pray for sustained peace, unity, progress and economic stability in Kogi State and the country.
He further called on citizens to continue supporting the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in its commitment towards good governance, security of lives and property, infrastructural development and the overall wellbeing of the people.
Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf also appealed to political leaders, community stakeholders and citizens to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and compassion for the less privileged during and after the festive period.
While wishing Muslims a peaceful and rewarding celebration, the Speaker prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the sacrifices and supplications of the faithful and grants the nation lasting peace and prosperity.
