Amb. Peter Orobo JP Emerges ADC Assembly Candidate for Oredo State Constituency, Pledges Functional Representation

There was widespread jubilation across Oredo Local Government Area following the emergence of Ambassador Peter Orobo Ovbokhan, JP, as the substantive candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Oredo State Constituency seat in the Edo State House of Assembly.
Speaking with journalists at the ADC Secretariat in Ward 11, Oredo West Constituency, Ambassador Orobo described the party’s primary election as peaceful, transparent, and credible. He noted that the process reflected the growing political awareness among Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections, as well as the increasing demand for credible leadership and quality representation.
According to him, if elected into the Edo State House of Assembly in 2027, he would prioritize people-oriented legislation aimed at improving the welfare and standard of living of constituents.
He stated that his agenda would focus on the provision of essential amenities, infrastructural development, and the empowerment of women and youths through skill acquisition and empowerment programmes.
“We are going to hold the executive accountable in the areas of security, education, infrastructure, healthcare, and other sectors necessary for the wellbeing of the people,” he said.
Ambassador Orobo also urged Nigerians, particularly youths, to remain law-abiding and promote peace and harmonious coexistence within their communities. He cautioned young people against allowing themselves to be used by politicians as instruments of violence or social unrest.
He further emphasized the need for Edo State electorates to support credible candidates with proven track records and meaningful contributions to society during the 2027 general elections.
“Wrong choices at the polls will only result in hardship for another four years,” Orobo asserted.
