
Maigari of Lokoja Confers Title of Wakilin Karatu on Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman

The Palace of the Maigari of Lokoja has conferred the traditional chieftaincy title of _Wakilin Karatu Lokoja_ on Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman in recognition of his contributions to education, community service, and development.
The title was approved by His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, Maigari of Lokoja and Chairman of the Lokoja Traditional Council. According to the Palace, the honour acknowledges Professor Usman’s commitment to educational advancement, integrity, and responsibility in service to Lokoja and humanity at large.
The Palace stated that the title reflects the traditional institution’s appreciation for individuals who have distinguished themselves in scholarship and community development. With the conferment, Professor Usman becomes a member of the Lokoja Traditional Title Holders Council and will henceforth be addressed with the salutation “Daudu.”
The honour, the Palace noted, comes with greater responsibility in supporting the council’s objectives of fostering peace, unity, cultural preservation, and socio-educational progress within Lokoja and beyond.
His Royal Highness congratulated the recipient on the well-deserved honour and expressed confidence that he would continue to contribute positively to the growth and development of Lokoja Kingdom.
Details of the coronation arrangements and other traditional rites will be communicated by the coronation committee in due course.
