A strong case for re-election of Sunday Karimi based on the need for continuity, legislative experience, and sustained development for Kogi State.

One of the major advantages of a second term is experience. Lawmaking and influence within the Nigerian Senate are often built over time through relationships, committee participation, and understanding of parliamentary processes. A returning senator is usually better positioned to attract federal attention, lobby for infrastructure, and secure strategic appointments or interventions for his constituency and state. With one term already spent understanding the legislative terrain, Senator Karimi would likely operate with greater effectiveness and confidence in a second tenure.
For Kogi State, continuity in representation can also mean continuity in development projects. Constituency initiatives in areas such as road rehabilitation, youth empowerment, education support, healthcare interventions, and rural electrification often require sustained advocacy before they are fully completed or expanded. A second term could allow unfinished projects to mature and ensure that ongoing federal partnerships are not abandoned midway.
Another argument in favor of Senator Karimi’s second term is political stability and stronger bargaining power for Kogi State at the national level. Seniority matters in the Senate. Legislators with longer service records tend to gain more influence in committee leadership and national policy discussions. This can translate into increased federal presence in Kogi through better access to grants, infrastructure projects, agricultural support, and employment opportunities for indigenes.
Youth development and economic empowerment are also central considerations. If Senator Karimi continues to prioritize entrepreneurship schemes, vocational training, scholarships, and support for small businesses, a second term could strengthen human capital development across Kogi West and the wider state. In a time of economic hardship, experienced representation that understands local realities may help attract practical solutions and investment opportunities.
Furthermore, re-electing a senator who already understands the security and socio-economic challenges facing Kogi State could help maintain consistency in advocacy on issues such as insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure, and education deficits. Rather than beginning afresh with a new lawmaker, continuity may offer a more strategic path toward measurable progress.
Ultimately, the case for Senator Sunday Karimi’s second term rests on the belief that experience, continuity, and established political networks can provide Kogi State with stronger representation, accelerated development, and a more influential voice in national affairs.
