Senator Tutare, Hon Muhammad, eulogize Abatemi-Usman at 55
Former member of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Distinguished Senator Abubakar Umar Tutare, and erstwhile Minority Leader of Niger State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Umar Muhammad, have extolled Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman as he clocked 55 on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Senator Tutare and Hon Muhammad, in separate interviews at the Abuja residence of the former parliamentarian representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, spoke glowingly about Senator Abatemi-Usman, describing him as an amiable personality.
According to Tutare, who was in the seventh Senate along with Abatemi-Usman, “I and Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman came to know each other at the 7th Senate. He came from Kogi Central and I came from Taraba Central. Even before we met, he got my contact and called to tell me he was aspiring to be Senate President. Since then, we became close and have been working together. For the past fifteen years that we’ve been together, I have come to know Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman as an articulate, intelligent and genuinely caring person. I wish him a very happy 55th birthday, with many more years of good health and prosperity.”
In the words of Hon Muhammad, “Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman is a leader and goal-getter. He is a consummate politician who has demonstrated exemplary leadership. As we celebrate his 55th birthday, we can only thank God for his life. I would like to use this medium to congratulate and appreciate him for all he has been doing not only for those of us that are very close to him, but also gor the development of Kogi State and Nigeria at large. Senator Abatemi-Usman is a father and rare gem. One thing I know about him is that you can never be with him and lose. No!
“He is a senior colleague, and a business and political associate. While I was in the House of Assembly, he was in the Senate. And from all perspectives, by all standards and in all aspects, he is perfect. Be it business, be it politics, Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman is a perfect man to work with. I would say he is a boss to reckon with. He leads and we follow. And if he leads you, you will never fail. He is a listening leader. He gives everyone listening ears. But one thing I know is that he takes no nonsense from anybody. And that is one quality of a leader. He is a no-nonsense man. He is outspoken. He says things as they are and calls a spade a spade. He will not hesitate to correct you if you acted wrongly so that you don’t make a similar mistake again.
