
Kogi Artisans Unite: FIWON Celebrates 16 Years of Advocacy, Set to Inaugurate New National Leadership.

The Federation of Informal Workers Organization of Nigeria (FIWON), Kogi State Chapter, is set to celebrate its 16th anniversary and inaugurate new national leadership from the state.
In a statement, Comr. Maryam Usman Yahaya, State Chairperson of Artisans and Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, and Comr. Umoru Ismaila, Secretary, said the event aims to unite artisans from the 21 LGAs, showcase their political strength, and promote inclusive development.
FIWON is a leading organization advocating for informal workers’ rights, welfare, and economic empowerment. The informal sector accounts for 80% of Nigeria’s workforce, driving economic growth, poverty reduction, and community development.
The celebration will hold on March 26, 2026, at NUT Hall, Lokoja, at 10:00am, invites members of the general public to the history making event.
