“Connect” Yahaya: The Grassroots Lawmaker with a Heart of Gold

By Abu Micheal
In a weekend visit to Omala, Abejukolo, Hon. Umar Yahaya demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his constituents, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the people.
The lawmaker, affectionately known as “Connect,” has earned a reputation for being accessible, easy-going, and impactful in his representation.
Yahaya’s intervention in education has been particularly noteworthy. His scholarship program has benefited numerous students, while his payment of school fees and purchase of JAMB forms for aspiring students have gone a long way in easing the burden on parents.
These efforts have not gone unnoticed, with many constituents praising his dedication to the cause of education.
However, his contributions extend far beyond education. In the health sector, Yahaya has been instrumental in building hospitals in various districts, providing much-needed medical facilities to the people.
His efforts to enhance security have also been remarkable, as evidenced by the ongoing construction of a police station in the area.
As Hon. Yahaya prepares to chart his future course, whispers are circulating that he may be eyeing a shot at the House of Representatives in 2027.
Given his track record, it’s no surprise that the people of Ankpa Federal Constituency are urging him to throw his hat into the ring. “Connect” has become a household name, synonymous with hope, progress, and people-centric leadership.
As one constituent put it, “Hon. Umar Yahaya is a lawmaker who understands the pulse of the people. He’s always ready to listen and act, and that’s what we need in government.”
With his impressive record and grassroots support, it’s clear that Yahaya is a man to watch in Nigerian politics come 2027.
