Youths in Ebonyi State under the aegis of the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum have endorsed Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his leadership style and infrastructural achievements across the state.

The endorsement followed a motion moved by the Forum’s legal adviser, Barr. Chigozie Nwankwo, and seconded by Barr. Solomon Nwogbaga during a well-attended meeting held at the forum’s headquarters in Abakaliki.

The motion was unanimously adopted by members present.

Speaking at the event, the National President of Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum, Dr. Chibueze Elom, said the decision to endorse the governor was based on what he described as people-oriented leadership and visible developmental projects executed within three years in office.

According to him, Governor Nwifuru has exceeded his campaign promises and therefore deserves another term to consolidate on the progress already recorded.

He appealed to the governor to accept the endorsement in good faith, noting that the decision was collectively taken by the forum. Dr. Elom added that Izzi youths were prepared to purchase the nomination form for the governor and mobilize support across the state to ensure his victory at the polls.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the forum and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructural Maintenance, Hon. Ben Nwovu, alongside the Chairman of Quarry Owners Association of Nigeria Ebonyi state chapter, Chief Chikaodili Ojimba, commended the governor for what they described as people-centered leadership and unprecedented infrastructural development.

They noted that projects executed across various communities have positively impacted the lives of residents, assuring that the Izzi clan would give the governor maximum support for his reelection to ensure continuity of good governance.

Other speakers at the event, including the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Uchenna Igwe; Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Hon. Ann Aligwe; member representing Abakaliki South Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Deacon Joseph Ununu and Maurice Mbam, also declared their support for the governor’s reelection bid.

They commended the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum for organizing the gathering and urged all stakeholders in the state to support the move to sustain the current pace of development.

The forum subsequently delegated the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Paul Nwogha, to formally convey their appeal to Governor Nwifuru to seek a second term in office.

Responding, Nwogha promised to deliver the message promptly and expressed optimism that the governor would consider the request of the youths.
