On this International Women’s Day, I join Nigerians and the global community in celebrating the courage, resilience, and remarkable achievements of women who continue to shape our families, communities, and our nation.
Women remain central to Nigeria’s progress. From the marketplace to the classroom, from the farms to the boardrooms, and from community leadership to public service, Nigerian women demonstrate extraordinary strength, innovation, and commitment to national development.
Today also reminds us that our collective responsibility is not only to celebrate women, but to continue working toward a society where every woman and girl has access to education, economic opportunity, quality healthcare, and equal participation in leadership and decision-making.
As a nation, we must strengthen policies and initiatives that promote gender inclusion, protect the rights and dignity of women, and create opportunities for them to realise their full potential. When women thrive, families prosper, communities grow stronger, and our nation moves forward.
