
Tinubu, Karimi Flags off Distribution of N300m Worth Ramadan, Lent Food Items in Kogi East

The Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum, have flagged off the distribution of Ramadan and Lent support with items worth N300m to support citizens across Kogi State by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

At a Flagoff ceremony held at Odugboyega, Dekina LGA of the State, Capt. Idris Wada, former Governor of the State and Chairman Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum, said items worth N300m across the 21 LGAs is being distributed simultaneously across the State by the Forum.

The former Governor described the gesture as President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to providing succour to citizens, solicited more support from Kogi Citizens.
The former Governor who was represented by Sanni Philips, State Coordinator of Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum, described Ramadan and lent as a period where love is shown by adherents, said President Tinubu’s commitment to supporting adherents, remains a feat that has led to Peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, State.
The Forum Chairman equally praised Sen. Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, for his additional support in providing the Ramadan and Lent support to all the Local Government Areas in the East, and the entire state in general.
Capt. Wada praised President Tinubu for embarking on sweeping economic reforms, including removing the fuel subsidy, unifying foreign exchange rates, and reducing the debt-service-to-revenue ratio
Capt. Wada lauded the achievements of President Tinubu which include infrastructure development, increased non-oil revenue, launching student loans, and social welfare programs like the 3MTT project.
He also praised President Tinubu’s administration for Increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio from under 10% to 13.5%, significantly increased non-oil revenue, and improved foreign reserves.
Capt. Wada thanked Sen. Karimi for identifying with Kogi Citizens in this period, said he has proven to be bridge and support in a very time when people need support, assured of the total support for President Tinubu in 2027.
According to Capt Wada, a total of 1500 bags of rice is to distributed per Ward, assured of other support for the citizens in the coming days. The distribution he said the food distribution is is taking place in Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela, Ofu and Ajaokuta LGA

In their various remarks, Salihu Adobanyi lauded President Tinubu for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for higher education, the N70,000 national minimum wage, and increased NYSC allowances to N77,000, said the impact has eased burden of parents.
Also Speaking, Lawal Sanni, praised President Tinubu for Initiating large-scale mechanised farming equipment procurement and provided billions in support to farmers, assured of the support of the people of Kogi East to
the second term aspiration of President Tinubu.
