Clarification on Recent Video of Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
The attention of the Media team of the Hon Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Kogi State, has been drawn to a recent video featuring Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu, which has been circulating on social media and misinterpreted by some individuals.
The Commissioner was speaking in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo’s re-election bid, emphasizing the his readiness to work towards their victory. Unfortunately, some content creators have distorted his words, presenting the video as a threat to public peace and incitement to violence.
We urge the public to disregard these malicious interpretations. The Commissioner’s message was clear: a call to support the government’s efforts, not a call to violence. Every right-thinking person should be able to comprehend the context and intent behind his words.
We condemn the actions of those who seek to twist and misrepresent the Commissioner’s statement for their own gain. Such individuals are attempting to create unnecessary tension and should be ignored.
The Commissioner remains committed to serving Kogi State and will continue to speak out in support of initiatives that benefit our people.
We appeal to the public to focus on the facts and not be swayed by misinformation.
