Cybestalking : Former Edo NBA Chairman Asenogua Case Adjourned To February 23 2026

A case of Cybestalking against the former chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Benin Branch, Ede Asenoguan brought before a federal high court in Benin was on Monday adjourned to 23 February, 2026.

In a charge sheet number FHC/B/121c, the defendant Ede Asenoguan and one Jessica Iguodala now at large was said to have in March , 2025 committed felony by cyberstalking the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Uyi Technical Limited, Elder Francis Omoruyi Oloton thereby committed an offence punishable under section 27 (1) b of the Cyber crimes Prohibition and Prevention Act of 2015 as amended in 2024.

Out of the four count charges brought against the former NBA Chairman of Benin Branch, the court was to hear that Ede Asenoguan did knowingly and intentionally transmit or caused to be transmitted communication through computer system or social media which contained allegations that caused harm to Mr Francis Omoruyi Oloton.

As Ede Asenoguan was called to the dock, the legal team of Omoruyi Oloton led by Olayinwola Afolabi (SAN) immediately appealed to the court for a time to resolve the matter out of court.
He assured that the issue will be adequately settled to the benefit of all parties in the matter.

The Judge, Hon Justice B.O Quadri then adjourned the case to the 23 Of February, 2026.
