“There is vacancy in Lugard House, it is Kogi West turn, come 2027” – Kogi Conscience Group

…….says *”we don’t need divine intervention for Kogi West to finally govern Kogi State, we need common sense”*
Kogi Conscience Group, a foremost pressure group in Kogi State aimed at ensuring justice, fairness and equity in the political landscape of Kogi State has called out every proponent of “no vacancy in Lugard House” in the build up to 2027 political party nominations exercises.
Kogi Conscience Group said “in fact, there is a vacancy in Lugard House, in as much as 2027 is the conversation. This is not one of those past times where we back down. This time around we are determined to ensure that power rotation to Kogi West is achieved because it is Kogi West turn, come 2027.”
“The slogan of ‘no vacancy in Lugard House’ did not come to us as a shock. We know it is being sponsored by those who are hellbent on our common patrimony in Kogi State at the expense of common sense, justice, equity and fairness.
“The slogan of ‘no vacancy in Lugard House’ is a rhetoric that turns logic on its head because after over eight years in power, there is a vacancy by common sense, except if we are suggesting that Kogi State is now the property of some few people who sit at a round-table and decide among themselves on behalf of the millions of voters in the State, as to whose individual turn it is to govern Kogi State.
“Go to Niger State, after every eight years, there is a vacancy in the Government House for another region in the State to come and get elected to govern the State. In Kogi State, are we saying it is only by divine intervention that another region that has never governed Kogi State before will finally have a chance to govern Kogi State? No!
*”We don’t need divine intervention in Kogi State definitely before we can agree that by even mere common sense, it is Kogi West turn to govern Kogi State, when 2027 comes.”*
“We are an advocacy group. We will increase our advocacy by shedding light on hard facts and by sensitizing the people of Kogi State to issues bothering on the need for justice, fairness and equity in the power conversation of Kogi State.
“The people of Kogi West have supported the other regions in the State and they have been supporting, selflessly even before the State was created in 1991 till date; now, 2027, is their turn to be supported non-negotiably for they have earned the right to be advocated for,” Kogi Conscience Group further said.
“Therefore, we call on all political parties that as they start mobilising as to who will get what ahead of 2027, in Kogi State, they should all cede their 2027 Governorship tickets to Kogi West in the interest of justice, fairness and equity,” the group concluded.
