
Kogi State Council of Ulama’u Thanks Governor Ododo for Costa Bus Donation, Offers Prayers for His Leadership

The Kogi State branch of the Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria paid an official courtesy visit to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, Executive Governor of Kogi State, on Friday, 14th Rajab 1447 AH (2 January 2026) in Okene.
Led by State Chairman Sheikh Salman Adam, members of the council attended the wedding ceremony of the Governor’s younger sister. The delegation also included the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Muhammad Salihu Abere; Zonal Chairman Sheikh Imam Aremu; Chairman of the Okunland Council of Ulama; and other state executive members.
The purpose of the visit was to express gratitude for the Governor’s donation of a Costa bus to the council and to present a letter of appreciation from the national headquarters. The Ulama’u members offered fervent prayers for the Governor, commended his humility, and praised his humane leadership of Kogi State. They prayed that Almighty Allah continue to guide and protect him throughout his tenure and beyond.
In his response, Governor Ododo thanked the council members for their visit, appreciated their prayers, and urged them to sustain their good works for the state. He called on the council to keep praying for the nation, the state, its leadership, and all residents, and to promote peace, harmony, and coexistence among Kogi’s diverse communities.
