Lokoja — The Kogi State Coordinator of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N‑HYPPADEC), Mr. Michael Omeiza Ajayi, has extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, celebrating his exemplary leadership as a “true chief servant” whose impact spans every sector of Kogi State.
In his felicitation, Ajayi lauded the governor’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Kogites, noting significant strides in water resources management, electricity generation, and livelihood enhancement across the state.
“Your leadership has transformed countless communities, bringing tangible benefits in water supply, power, and overall quality of life,” Ajayi said.
He assured Governor Ododo of N‑HYPPADEC’s steadfast commitment to aligning with his vision, pointing out that over the past years the Commission has delivered equitable and sustainable development to communities in Nigeria’s hydroelectric power‑producing areas.
The Commission has tackled socio‑economic and environmental impacts of dam operations—including ecological damage, infrastructure deficits (housing, health, education), resettlement issues, and resource management—to promote inclusive growth and resilience.
Ajayi added that N‑HYPPADEC has helped address ecological challenges such as flooding and erosion caused by dams and will continue its mitigation efforts in the new year.
The Coordinator disclosed that the Commission has impacted the state’s socio‑economic development through projects in housing, education, health, and community empowerment, fostering inclusive growth.
He reaffirmed N‑HYPPADEC’s commitment to transforming the challenges posed by dams into opportunities for sustainable development and improved livelihoods, noting that the Commission has worked tirelessly to deliver water, electricity, and livelihood projects in virtually every N‑HYPPADEC community, ensuring federal support reaches those who need it most.
