Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Donates 1,000 Bags of Rice to Kogi Christians
Saturday, December 27 2025 – In a festive gesture marking the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, distributed 1,000 bags of 25 kg rice to the Christian Northern Nigerian Political Progressives Forum (CNNPF) in Kogi State.
The flag‑off ceremony was held at the ECWA Good News Church premises in Lokoja. Speaking at the event,
Hon. Gabriel Ibrahim Itodo, National Coordinator of CNNPF and Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi Governor on Religious Matters, lauded the First Lady’s timely and impactful support to Christian faithful during the holiday season.
Itodo noted that the First Lady has extended similar aid to other northern states, targeting the less‑privileged, widows, youths, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He added that the 1,000 bags allocated to Kogi will be distributed across all 21 local government areas through recognized groups and coordinators to ensure the items reach intended beneficiaries.
“We are here to flag off the distribution of food items donated to Kogi State by Her Excellency, the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu,” Itodo said.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts to stabilize the nation, attributing the relative peace in Nigeria to purposeful leadership. Itodo urged local government coordinators to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the distribution process, emphasizing that the gesture’s success hinges on the items reaching the actual recipients.
“I urge beneficiaries to receive these items with gratitude and to pray for the First Lady and the administration of her husband,” he added.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, *Elder Solomon David* expressed deep appreciation, noting that the donation will help ease economic hardships for many families during the Christmas period. He said the gesture has renewed hope among Christians and APC members, underscoring the government’s sensitivity to ordinary citizens’ needs.
David further called for continued support for the president and encouraged Christians to back President *Ahmed Tinubu* in the 2027 elections.
Addressing concerns about insecurity, Itodo described the crisis as a “protracted and multifaceted challenge” that demands a comprehensive, holistic response beyond the Nigerian government alone. He highlighted that recent U.S. military interventions are yielding positive results, noting that the president’s collaboration with international partners reflects serious measures to address the issue.
