Christmas: NUP Chairman Calls for Peaceful Coexistence, Unity During Christmas

LOKOJA — The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Kogi State Chapter, Engr. Clement Ohida, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians and members of the Union on the occasion of the 2024 Christmas celebration.

In a goodwill message, Engr. Ohida rejoiced with Kogites, particularly members of the Union, for witnessing another Christmas celebration commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. He urged Kogites to use the joyous occasion to pray for leaders at all levels and for the peace, progress, and socio-economic development of Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.

The NUP Chairman stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among Kogites, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliations. He encouraged citizens to be guided by the lessons of the Christmas season, which he emphasized are rooted in love, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence.

“Irrespective of our religious affiliations, we can draw immense strength and inspiration from the enduring legacies of the life of Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life for the redemption of our souls,” he said.

Engr. Ohida wished Christians God’s guidance and abundant blessings as they celebrate this important milestone of high spiritual significance. He also called for support for the administration of *Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo*, stating that Kogi State is their home and praying for and working with leaders is key to overcoming challenges.

“We have no other State to call our home, other than Kogi State, reason why praying for and working with our leaders remains the panacea to overcoming our challenges. Without mincing words, we are no longer where we were as Pensioners in the past even though we still ask for better attention through harmonization,” he said.

The Chairman congratulated Christians for witnessing another Christmas and prayed for many more celebrations in good health and prosperity.
