Ododo Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Development through KGCSDA, NG-CARES
The Kogi State Government has once again reassured communities across the state of its commitment to people-focused development, as it continues to invest in programmes that directly touch lives at the grassroots.
This reassurance came from the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Community and Social Development Projects, Alhaji Muhammadu Nuhu Tanimu, during a training programme organised by the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA) under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Tanimu said the administration believes that meaningful development begins with empowered communities and well-informed stakeholders.
“His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is deeply committed to programmes that improve daily living for our people. Through KGCSDA and NG-CARES, this government is ensuring that communities are not just beneficiaries, but active partners in development,” Tanimu said.
He explained that the training was designed to strengthen the capacity of participants to effectively implement and sustain NG-CARES interventions, especially those targeted at vulnerable households and underserved communities.
“This programme is about people — about giving our communities the skills, support and confidence they need to build resilience and create better opportunities for themselves,” he added.
The Special Adviser expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence placed in him and praised the General Manager of KGCSDA, Alhaji (Chief) Momoh Dauda, as well as the management and staff of the agency, for their dedication to delivering impactful projects across the state.
According to him, the consistent efforts of KGCSDA have helped ensure that NG-CARES interventions are reaching the right people and addressing real community needs.
“I encourage participants to take this training seriously and apply what they have learned in their communities. When these skills are put to use, communities would be better” Tanimu said.
He further conveyed the goodwill of Governor Ododo to all participants, assuring them of the state government’s continued support for initiatives that promote inclusion, resilience and social development.
The training was for community project management committees ahead of project implementation under the NG-CARES in Kogi State.
