Gambo resumes as Kogi PDP Chair, Hails Sen. Natasha Akpoti as Party Pride — Vows Multiple Senatorial Wins in 2027
Lokoja — Hon. Muhammad Sanni Gambo, newly sworn-in Kogi State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who today resumed office officially has hailed Sen. Natasha Akpoti Udaughan as the “pride of Kogi PDP.”
He made the remarks after officially assuming office following a Federal High Court ruling on November 10, 2025 (Suit No. FRC/LKJ/CS/39/2024), which declared him the duly elected chairman after a year-long legal battle over the August 31 2024 PDP congress.
Receiving the Certified True Copy of the judgment, Gambo was welcomed by a massive crowd of supporters, security agencies (Police, Civil Defence, DSS) and party leaders. In his maiden speech at the PDP secretariat, he affirmed Kogi as a “PDP state,” called for unity, and pledged to turn the party into an unbeatable force for 2027.
He also lauded Rep. Abdulrahman Danga (Okehi‑Adavi Federal Constituency) as a good ambassador of the PDP, and praised leaders such as Barr. Shaba Ibrahim, Hon. TJ Yusuf, former Governor Ibrahim Idris, Barr. Kabiru, and Hon. Humphrey Abah for their contributions.
Gambo promised that under his leadership the PDP will produce multiple senators—including more Natasha‑type figures—across Kogi’s three senatorial districts and nine federal constituencies, reclaim Lugard House, and position the party for the 2027 presidential race.
He urged aggrieved members to forgive past differences and join the rebuilding effort, emphasizing an open‑door policy and a blueprint for growth.
Background:
Gambo finished second in the disputed congress; the initial frontrunner, Enemona Anyebe, was barred by court.
The judgment validated Gambo’s victory and ordered his immediate swearing‑in.
