Omala Elders Forum Draws The Attention of Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Omala Elders Forum Draws The Attention of Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The above Group of Elites from Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, today met to put an end to the current Ife’s and Ogodu discrepancies and arguement on who next takes over the office of the Omala Local government Council Chairman without staining the already established existing relationship between the two.

This is with the need to strengthen the good and harmonious relationship. It is in that light that they felt that *Hon. Sanusi Abubakar, the former Chief of staff to Omala Local Government Chairman, with wealth of experience, dedication and trustworthy to the party, who is from Ogodu Zone should become the next party candidate for the coming chairman for peace, harmony, and developmental strides.

After much deliberations among the group of elders that lasted two hours in Omala, it was concluded that the manner at which Ogodu district were marginalized in every aspect, ranging from House of Representative, State House of Assembly and Local Government Chairmanship position, is alarming and can not be allowed to go on more than these since they all share the local government together.

The next positive line of action as we appeal to His Excellency and if implemented, will no doubt stop the unnecessary endorsement here and there.

Without mincing words, Ogodu zone is the back bone of APC since it’s formation in 2015, it can not be ignored at this point in time because the aftermath can’ be very risky politically now that they are the only crisis free zone in Omala Local and they did not only remain densely populated but they still maintain their huge capacity vote for any election.

The elders felt that it’s not out of place to allow the Chairmanship position to rotate only among the three zones for the third time with out considering Ogodu Zone for the forth district even once.

We call on His Excellency Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo to look into this matter carefully with good and viable resolution to end any further crisis in Omala.

Signed.
Mall. Ibrahim Abdullahi
