The Executive Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Hon. Aliyu Ogido Haruna, alongside the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, has inspected the ongoing renovation works at the Ajaokuta Local Government Secretariat.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Ogido expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his timely intervention in the renovation of the secretariat.

He explained that upon assuming office, he met the local government structures in a deplorable condition until the Governor approved the renovation project currently transforming the edifice.

The Chairman also commended the Federal Lawmaker, whom he described as the Apex Leader of Ajaokuta, for facilitating the Governor’s attention to the local government’s infrastructural decay. According to him, Hon. Abdulraheem’s proactive communication of the challenges faced by the council paved the way for the Governor’s intervention after 32 years of the secretariat structure.
Hon. Ogido further revealed that the secretariat had been in a “sorry state,” with most of its valuable office equipment and facilities, including the ICT House, ruthlessly vandalized. He expressed satisfaction that with the collaborative efforts of the lawmaker and the state government, the narrative is now changing for the better.
While appreciating Hon. Abdulraheem for his continuous support to the people of Ajaokuta, the Chairman pledged to ensure the successful completion of the renovation project.
He also restated his administration’s efforts to provide adequate security across the local government to consolidate Governor Ododo’s achievements in maintaining peace and order.
