Veronika Bakos Charity Foundation Empowers Widows, Children in Lokoja
The Veronika Bakos Charity Foundation has brought joy and hope to 50 widows and 50 children in Ganaja Village, Lokoja.
The Foundation made the intervention through an empowerment program that covers skills acquisition and humanitarian outreach.
The event held on Saturday, 25th of October 2025, featured the distribution of essential items and training in various skills to empower beneficiaries.
The foundation provided skills acquisition training in soap making, insecticides, baking, vaseline, and confectionaries to enable the widows to become self-reliant. Children received items such as shoes, mats, clothes, exercise books, biros, and food items.
The Founder of the Veronika Bakos Charity Foundation, Mrs. Veronica Bako, while speaking about her passion and work to assist the less privileged in society, said that as a widow of over 30 years herself, She understands the pain widows go through.
She therefore advised the beneficiaries to take the skill acquired and training seriously, so that they can become self-reliant and employers of labor.
Mrs. Bako also called on well-to-do individuals to cultivate the heart of giving to the needy, emphasizing that such gestures attract God’s blessings. The foundation whose thematic areas of focus includes skills and vocational training, small business support, humanitarian outreach, girl child development, advocacy, and awareness expressed its desire to partner with individuals, corporate entities and government agencies to reach out to more people in need.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Mrs. Bako and the foundation for their kindness, praying for God’s blessings and increase in her life.
The Foundation’s efforts have made a significant impact in the lives of widows and children in the community, providing them with hope and opportunities for a brighter future.
