10th anniversary: Carabana Lounge Boss Gives Awards To Staff, Business Partners
*Diplomat canvasses better management of national resources

Chief Executive Officer, Carabana Lounge and Club Plan B, Chief Promise Nwobu has commended his staff for their diligence, dedication and commitments that have advanced the brand.
He also heaped encomiums on his business partners, suppliers and clients for their partnership and patronage over the years.
He also gave awards to many of his staff and business partners for their services and support to the brand.
He spoke on Friday on the sidelines of the 10th anniversary of Carabana Lounge and Bar in Lagos.
He also called on the government to ensure prudence in the management of public resources.
According such was necessary for national growth and improvement in the living standard and quality of lives of Nigerians.
Nwobu pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to ensure rapid improvement in public power services in the country.
He expressed happiness for celebrating his staff and customers, adding that they are strategic to his business and organizational growth.
Nwobu said: “I feel so good celebrating the 19th anniversary of my companies. I feel so excited, elated and elevated. I feel promotion in my life. I feel everything that has to do with God’s blessings. I feel good.
“I celebrated my staff because I saw that as a fundamental aspect of the celebration. I celebrated my staff today and I also want to say that I will also celebrate them tomorrow. Because without them I would not be where I am today. So I don’t know how to define them. They are one of the fundamentals of my life. So that is the reason why I said we thank them.
“Human resources are a fundamental aspect of business development. That is just an explanation. I so much believe in that. Also human capital development is key for organizational growth.
“On how business environment has been in the country, because we live in a country called Nigeria, I wouldn’t say it is bad because I have to respect whoever is ruling us. But it has not been easy on our part. But in general we just have to give God the glory. I can tell you that is good. But if it is not good, who is celebrating his anniversary?
“There are things that should be done to enhance business development in the country. If I had my way to talk to the President of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, I would ask him to increase electricity. With electricity, if Nigeria has like 24 hours of electricity every week, I can assure you that you there is going to be a great leap in businesses. I would ask him just to go and buy a car. We spend so much money on electricity here. We do business from Monday to Sunday. Then on the next Monday, we are spending almost all the money because we need to pay electricity bill, buy diesel. It is not just easy.
“Well, some people have also called for better management of national resources. I believe that the government should ensure that our wealth is well managed.”

emphasised on the need for more transparency and judicious management of national resources.
According to him, the anniversary was essential.
He said: “The economy of Nigeria right now is not suitable for business. So, we are not talking about 10 days. We are talking about 10 years. It is not easy. I am really proud of the brand and the team. I mean, it is not easy. So, I am always here to support.
“The government is trying its best. But it is just the way. After COVID, everything changed. So, most countries are coming together to build theirs. I am sure the government is trying, right? So, there is not much we can do. We ask the people to come together and push ourselves and push the brand and push the business.
“On tax relief, I don’t mind paying taxes as a business owner if our taxes are being used to develop the country. I only get pissed or get mad when I pay taxes and I don’t see the results.
“I am calling for efficient use of the national resources. I don’t mind paying taxes, but let the taxes be used. Let’s see good roads. I stay overseas. So, coming back, it is just because of my business, that is why I am here. So, coming back and you know that your family is not safe or your business is not safe and things like that, are worrisome. So, I don’t mind paying taxes.”

Chief Executive. Officer, CBT, Chief Victor Okolo, called on the government to provide better business environment to entrepreneurs and indigenous companies.
He said: “It was a good outing. It was a good anniversary.
“Well, some people have called on the government to ensure better utilization of national resources. That is what everybody is calling for. I do not know. In fact, I am short of words. The policy they are bringing out is not giving us a breathing space to know whether it is going to be implemented or not.”
Executive Chairman, Isolo LCDA, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju, lauded Nwobu and his staff for innovation in the hospitality value chain.
