
Award of Excellence for Education, Teachers’ Friendliness on Gov. Ododo signifies “No Vacancy in Lugard House Till 2031” – Hon. Ogah Sunday.

The SA said the award is in recognition of Gov. Ododo’s outstanding contributions to the welfare of teachers and the development of the education sector in Kogi State.
The SA spoke following the Golden Award of Excellence for Education and Teachers’ Friendliness presented to Gov. Ododo by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).
The award was presented during the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Celebration held at the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Sunday, said when Teachers in Kogi State under the umbrella of the Nigerian Union of Teachers declared a No Vacancy in Lugard House until after the 8 year of the purposeful and God fearing leadership of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, coincides with the award by the National NUT.
The SA commended the Governor’s commitment to improving the teaching profession and education in the state.
The award according to the SA is a clear recognition and appreciation by the NUT for Governor Ododo’s unshakable commitment to teachers’ welfare and his administration’s robust investments in education. There’s no doubt that the award will further motivate the State Government to sustain and improve its plans for teachers and the education sector as a whole.
The SA mentioned that the administration of Gov Ododo is one that has been rewarding for Primary School Teachers in the State.
Hon. Ogah said the administration of Gov Ododo has brought smiles to the faces of Primary School Teachers, praised Gov. Ododo’s for nominating the immediate past State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Joel Salifu as Deputy Governor.
The SA equally commended Gov Ododo for acceding to the age long demand of the union in the implementation of 100% minimum wage to Primary School Teachers in the basic Education sub sector and bringing them at par with workers in the State Civil Service.
Furthermore, the SA expressed appreciation to the administration of Gov. Ododo for his approval to carry Teachers along in the SEVENTY TWO THOUSAND NAIRA minimum wage payment.
The SA praised Gov. Ododo for the payment of September 2020 Salary arrears, added that the up to date remittances of UBEC counterpart funds for the provision of infrastructure and instructional materials in the sub sector by Gov. Ododo remains unprecedented.
The SA described Gov. Ododo as God sent, reiterated that Primary and secondary School Teachers will remain eternally grateful and Loyal to the administration of Gov Ododo for his unprecedented kind consideration to teachers in the State.
