KOSIEC Chairman Urges Citizens to Participate in Continuous Voter Registration

The Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) and National Chairman of the Forum of State Independent Electoral Commissions of Nigeria (FOSIECON), Mamman Nda Eri, has called on eligible citizens of Kogi State and Nigerians at large to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a message to the public, Eri emphasized that voter registration is the foundation of a credible electoral process, stressing that “your vote is your voice, and your voice must be heard.”
He explained that citizens who are 18 years and above, those who have recently changed their place of residence, or those who have not previously registered should seize the opportunity to visit the nearest registration centre to register, update, or transfer their voter information.
“Every single registration counts. A credible voters’ register is key to strengthening democracy, securing our future, and building a better Kogi State,” he stated.
He reminded the public that democracy works best when every eligible citizen participates actively, urging residents not to wait until it is too late before registering.
The CVR exercise, according to him, offers a platform for citizens to exercise their constitutional rights and contribute to the nation’s democratic development.
