Dr. Mo Pledges Lift for AMAC Residents

The Chairmanship Candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Dr. Moses Paul, has pledged to embark on a multidimensional transformation of the council if given the mandate in the forthcoming Federal Capital Territory elections.
Dr. Moses made this disclosure in an exclusive chat with the media on the sidelines of a town hall meeting with members of the Obedient Movement, Kabusa Ward, at the Okay Event Center, Lugbe, Abuja.
He explained that his decision to contest the AMAC chairmanship was driven by a burning desire to redefine local governance by laying a solid foundation for transformational leadership. According to him, his aspiration is to set a new precedent for grassroots leadership and governance in Nigeria.
Dr. Moses noted that having lived in the FCT for over four decades, combined with his educational background and exposure, he is adequately prepared to lead the administration of Nigeria’s seat of power. He promised to unlock the socio-economic potential of the FCT while safeguarding the economic and cultural rights of the original inhabitants of the nation’s capital.
Underscoring the significance of the 2026 FCT elections, he emphasized that AMAC must get it right for other parts of the country to replicate its governance model, which would further shape the outcome of the 2027 general elections.
He further outlined three priority areas for his administration: education, healthcare delivery, and job creation. On the issue of insecurity, Dr. Moses argued that effective job creation policies would automatically help reduce crime rates.
Giving an example, he said: “If we procure buses for all the public schools in AMAC, you need drivers to operate them. The number of buses acquired equals the number of people employed as drivers—potentially even doubling the job opportunities.”
He attributed the high crime rate to an unfavorable environment created by leaders who lack vision, competence, and the will to place the people’s interest above personal gain.
